Rihanna's latest single is sassy bad girl anthem "S&M" and she cooked up a hell of a new video for this one. Now, we all know S&M is sadomasochism ("whips & chains excite me") but Rihanna and her video director Melina decided to take a more creative route and stand for "Scandals & Media."
This is one hot video if I do say so myself. I think my favorite parts are where she's in a sexy bunny costume in front of headlines like "Princess of the Illuminati" and where she takes Perez Hilton for a "dog walk." The end is very suggestive as Rihanna eats various fruits including a strawberry. Overall, it's probably one of her best and most colorful. Rihanna does give a taste of actual S&M where she has the press tied up and whips them while rocking a white dominatrix costume.
Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself.

Today, January 16 is fallen R&B songstress Aaliyah's birthday. Alongside Brandy & Monica, Aaliyah contributed to the contemporary R&B takeover in the mid-to-late 1990s and has been a great entertainer linked with R. Kelly & her friends/powerhouses Missy Elliott and Timbaland. Aaliyah was very different from her peers and she sought to make mature urban music to match her "street but sweet" image. Sadly, Aaliyah died in a plane crash on August 26, 2001 after wrapping up footage for her new single "Rock The Boat."
Aaliyah was an inspiration to many and she has a hand in influencing many new artists and urban music as a whole. Aaliyah is one of my biggest inspirations and one of the reasons why I really became involved in music when I was younger. Below is one of my favorite songs, "4 Page Letter" from her breakthrough album "One In A Million." It's true. She was truly one in a million and no one can ever replace her.

Diva season is back in full effect and what better way to bring it in that with a new Britney Spears song? As I've told you last time, the song is called "Hold It Against Me" and it's yet another Dr. Luke/Max Martin pop collaboration.
While it's a decent song, does it really live up to all the hype? As an avid Britney listener, I'm a little disappointed. Yes, the infectious lyrics and trance production will lure all those who love a good club anthem, gay anthem, or gay club anthem. Compared to her recent singles, especially the very classic Britney "3", it falls short. I don't know, maybe I need a couple more listens. Tell me what you think.

If you're a RichGirl fan, boy do we have a treat for you. No, it's not an album release date, but it's the full version of their song "Back to the Club." It's a bit bland but a nice and safe mid-tempo track that showcases all of the ladies' talents. If you're interested, click here.
Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child fame has recently dropped a unreleased song from her last album "Unexpected." It's entitled "If You Wanna Go" and it is a classic girl anthem. However, alot is missing in this track. See if you can figure it out right here.
We have an early listen to pop star Chris Brown's second single on his forthcoming album "Fame." The urban banger is called "Look at Me Now" & it's accompanied by Lil' Wayne & Busta Rhymes and all I can tell you is that it's far better than his first song "Yeah 3X." Check it out!

Yes, the time has finally come. A new Marsha Ambrosius song with a video to accompany it! The new R&B crooner's song is entitled "Far Away" and it's a message to her long lost friend. Ambrosius admits that her friend committed suicide in a result of LBGT harrassment. It is confirmed that this is the second single for the album, however there is STILL no video for "Hope She Cheats On You With a Basketball Player." This is madness, I say!

Live at Copa meets late night talk with Keri Hilson. The songstress performed a very upbeat live version of her hit song "Pretty Girl Rock" while channeling Diana Ross. I've got to say, she pulled it off and looked good doing it. It was a really cute and appropriate theme for the song.
Ms. Hilson is not playing any games this go around, kids.

Remember that stellar new Alicia Keys - Eve track I debuted for yall a while ago? No? Click here.
Anyway, Alicia Keys recently put up a video via twitter of the recording process of the song with Eve. Alicia admits that she has not recorded or even penned anything since her son was born. She says that just looking at him left her speechless.
She continues, "“To just put something out that shows what you feel and what you’re going through, at the moment you’re going through it, and let the world hear it, let people vibe with you on it. That’s like music.”
It's always refreshing to watch a true artist at work. This song has been on my playlist and I can't wait to hear more. I must admit, I was expecting lullaby music when she said she was singing about her child. Glad to know I was wrong!
Since Jeezy's stellar solo rap career started, you might've thought that his homeboys in the rap group USDA were finito. However, of course, you're wrong. Jeezy calls 211, Boo Rossini, & Slick Pulla for this mellow club anthem "The Lick."
One thing I can say is that they are keeping the traditional Dirty South rap elements in their rapping & production. Jeezy has a great 16, but the rest want to let you know he's not the only one gifted in bars. Listen and see if you can get that lick.

If you thought the war of the femcees was over, you thought wrong. Also, if you thought Lil' Kim's "Black Friday" was the worse diss response yet, you thought wrong. Foxy Brown recently hit the internet airwaves with a diss towards Lil' Kim called "Rough Enough." It was originally titled "Christmas Revenge" (to play off of Lil' Kim's "Black Friday" coinciding with Thanksgiving) but after having a loss in the family, she decided to change the mood and release date. The track just hit iTunes on New Year's Day, but if you want a listen, peek below.

Meanwhile, Lil' Kim is not only coming for Nicki Minaj but Keyshia Cole as well. She states that their track "I Ain't Thru" was disrespectful, so Kim's enlisting Mary J. Blige to come at Keyshia's neck. Whether or not Mary actually knows she's creating a diss song is still up in the air. Peep below where Lil' Kim announces this at a New Year's Eve party.
